Anthea Skinner PhD is an ethnomusicologist who specialises in disability culture and education, organology, heritage archiving, and Malay music and history. She is currently a McKenzie Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Her work on Malay music and history engages with that of her late grandfather, Professor Cyril Skinner, and she won the Margaret Jennings Award from the Australian Society of Archivists in 2021. She currently coordinates Melbourne Youth Orchestras’ Adaptive Music Bridging Program, which provides instrumental music education to children with disabilities.
