David Whish-Wilson is an Australian award-winning author of ten novels and three creative non-fiction books. Originally from Newcastle, NSW, he was raised in Singapore, Victoria, and Western Australia. At eighteen, he left Australia to spend a decade living in Europe, Africa, and Asia, taking on various roles including barman, actor, street vendor, petty criminal, laborer, exterminator, factory worker, gardener, clerk, travel agent, teacher, and drug trial participant. David is known for his four novels in the Frank Swann crime series and two in the Lee Southern series, with two of these novels having been shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Awards. He also authored the Perth book in the NewSouth Books city series, which was shortlisted for a WA Premier's Book Award.
